Bead Jewelry and art design.

Hi my name is Mya -I’ve been making jewelry for several years—starting after college and some years into working life, when I finally gave myself the time to create just for the joy of it.

I eventually devoted almost all my free time to explore ideas with my new hobby beading.  I did this while learning patterns, reading everything I could on jewelry making, experimenting, and teaching myself how to bead weave one stitch at a time. 

My first introduction to jewelry making was a course I took my freshman year of college at a Fine Art Museum. I loved it, it was difficult, but learning metalworking felt intense back then—especially without the time or space to really dive in. 

After relocating years ago I found a new avenue to follow, and picked art up again. Beading became my way back in: hands-on, detailed, and endlessly creative.

I do this for several hours at a time if I have  an event or occasion to create jewelry.  I made things sometimes for no reason just because I can I start from a few beads and made something tangible.  

 

Today, I’m especially drawn to using real stones in my creations instead of beads because they feel good to hold on to. 

Every piece I make is crafted with intention, imagination, and a whole lot of heart

I haven’t formally studied Geology or Mineralogy—but I’m always learning what makes certain stones rare, valuable, or simply unforgettable.
